From June 11-12 the top minds in aerospace, defense, and manufacturing will meet in Pasadena, California for the 3rd iteration of Advanced Manufacturing for Defense. This gathering, conducted in partnership with ASTM International, will serve as a nexus of industry leaders, experts, and innovators, where collaborative discussions will unfold against the backdrop of recent investments by industry, as well as program initiatives funded by the current administration, adding a layer of timeliness and relevance to the discourse.

Dr. Mohsen Seifi is the Vice President of Global Advanced Manufacturing Programs at ASTM International, and this year’s conference will be his 3rd as chairman of this US- based event. In his role at ASTM International Dr. Seifi leads a team of highly experienced individuals with the goal of enabling industries to adopt advanced technologies such as additive manufacturing, robotics and autonomous systems by providing standardization support, training, certification, market intelligence and advisory services.

Before attendees funnel into the Westin Hotel in Pasadena this June, IDGA sat down with Dr. Seifi to discuss the advanced manufacturing space and what he is looking forward to during this year’s conference.
