Associate Professor and Extension Forest and Fire Specialist New Mexico State University

Dr. Doug Cram is an Associate Professor and Extension Forest and Fire Specialist at New Mexico State University. His research and Extension efforts focus on management of forests, rangelands, and riparian areas with a particular concentration on the interaction of fire within these systems. In addition to management of natural resources, a key area of interest is training New Mexicans on how to use prescribed fire on private lands. He has been burning since 1998 when John Weir first put a drip torch in his hand. He received a Bachelor of Science in wildlife science (New Mexico State University), a Master of Science in forest science (Oklahoma State University) and a Doctorate of Philosophy in range science (New Mexico State University).
