Dr. Best has over 25 years of nursing experience. Currently serves as the Chief Nurse of Acute Care at the Salisbury VA Health Care System. She has previously held roles as Assistant Chief Nurse Geriatrics and Extended Care, Nurse Recruiter, Nurse Manager of Inpatient Hospice, Home Based Primary Care and Home and Community Based Care. Dr. Best has extensive experience in nursing leadership, professional development, quality assurance, and improvement initiatives. She also serves as a member of the Research and Development Committee and has sponsored several Process Improvement Projects across the medical center. She graduated from University of North Carolina-Greensboro with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a specialization in Executive Leadership. She received her MSN with a concentration as a Clinical Nurse Leader from Queens University in Charlotte NC. Dr. Best holds three national board certifications: two from the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Gerontology and Advance Nurse Executive. And one certification from the Commission on Nurse Certification (CNC) as a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL).
