Dr. Campbell serves as the Executive Director for VHA Office of Mental Health (OMH). In this role, she leads a nationwide multidisciplinary team. This team ensures timely high-quality Veteran-centered, evidence-based, mental health services to over 2 million Veterans every year. She provides leadership to the Deputy Director/Office of Mental Health, Director of Field Support and Analytics, and Director of Continuum of Care and General Mental Health. The Office of Mental health encompasses a robust Legislative and Partnership arm, Operations, Evaluation, Quality, and Implementation team; and Acute, Inpatient. Outpatient, Residential and Specialty Mental Health services to include substance use disorder, workplace violence prevention, tobacco cessation, vocational rehabilitation, and peer support services. The Office of Mental Health supports a vigorous Education, Training and Research mission.
Dr. Campbell is a United States Air Force Veteran. She attained her Medical Degree and Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Wright State University. She completed a Clinical Psychology Internship at Wright Patterson Airforce Base and General Psychiatry Residency at University Hospitals, Cincinnati, Ohio, where she served as Chief Resident and was the recipient of the Resident of the Year Award. She completed advanced training in Hypnotherapy at Menninger Clinic. She has a certification in Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. She is past president of the Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association and current Ohio Representative to the General Assembly APA. Dr. Campbell has received numerous career accolades including the 2023 Alumnus of the Year Award, Wittenberg University and the Commendation award for her clinical leadership and expertise during Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
