BENJAMIN BROOKE, MD, PHD, FACS

Chief, Division of Vascular Surgery University of Utah

Dr. Brooke is an Associate Professor of Surgery, Bioinformatics (adjunct), and Population Health Sciences (adjunct).

He is the Chief of Vascular Surgery at the University of Utah, as well as leads surgical health services research efforts at the University Of Utah Department Of Surgery and the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System. Currently, he serves as section chief of the Health Services Research Section and director of the Utah Intervention Quality and Implementation Research (U-INQUIRE) group. Dr. Brooke is also an Investigator in the VA SLC Specialty Care Center of Innovation and IDEAS 2.0 COIN. Dr. Brooke’s research is focused on improving care coordination and patient safety during transitions of surgical care, which has been funded by grants from PCORI, he National Institutes of Health, the Veterans Health Administration and the Office of National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. Dr. Brooke has authored more than 70 peer reviewed publications focused on surgical outcomes and quality measures, and his research has been published in high-impact medical journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, JAMA Surgery and Health Affairs.
