Deputy Chief, Global Bulk Fuel Management and Delivery US Transportation Command

Lieutenant Colonel Steven M. Massie II is the Deputy Chief, Global Bulk Fuel Management and Delivery, United States Transportation Command, Scott AFB, IL. Competition through conflict, he is responsible for leading a team of 45 personnel synchronizing the DoD's $11.7B bulk fuel enterprise across planning, contingency assessments, capabilities development and operations to provide assured distribution, command and control, and global prioritization for DoD's Joint Petroleum Enterprise.

Lieutenant Colonel Massie hails from Fairfax Station, Virginia and is a 2004 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. He completed undergraduate pilot training in 2006 at Corpus Christi Naval Air Station, Texas. Lieutenant Colonel Massie has served as an Evaluator and Instructor Pilot in the C-130J and KC-130J aircraft for both the United States and Italian Air Forces. He is a senior pilot with more than 700 combat hours, and has led numerous sorties in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and ODYSSEY DAWN. Additionally, Lieutenant Colonel Massie has held various positions at the squadron, wing, numbered air force, major command, and combatant command levels in both the United States and Italian Air Forces. Prior to his current assignment, Lieutenant Colonel Massie served as Commander 36th Airlift Squadron, 374th Airlift Wing, Yokota Air Base, Japan.
