Honorable Sharon Burke

Former Assistant Secretary of Defense for Operational Energy Department of Defense

Honorable Sharon E. Burke is the Founder and President of Ecospherics, a research and advisory firm that specializes in energy security, critical minerals, climate security, and related challenges. Burke has been a leader at several civic organizations, including the Center for a New American Security, where she started the Natural Security program. She has held senior positions in the U.S. government, starting her career in the Energy and Materials Program of the U.S. Office of Technology Assessment and most recently serving as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Operational Energy. A native of Los Angeles and educated at Williams College and Columbia University, Burke is a frequent public speaker, writer, and strategic advisor to corporate boards, national laboratories, and U.S. government agencies.
