Maj. Gen. Clark J. Quinn is the Deputy Commander for Air Education and Training Command at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. The command is responsible for the recruiting, training and education of Air and Space Force personnel and includes Air Force Recruiting Service, two Numbered Air Forces and Air University. AETC operates more than 1,400 trainer, fighter and mobility aircraft, 24 wings, 11 bases and five geographically-separated groups. It governs approximately 60,000 active-duty, Reserve, Guard, civilian and contractor personnel who train more than 293,000 students per year.
Prior to assuming his current role, Maj. Gen. Quinn served as Commander for Nineteenth Air Force at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. In this position, he commanded 32,000 total force personnel and 1,530 aircraft assigned to 17 total force wings located across the United States. He was responsible for more than 45% of the U.S. Air Force’s annual flying hour program and directs aircrew training courses cumulating in over 21,000 graduates annually.
Maj. Gen. Quinn was previously the Deputy Commander Ninth Air Force (Air Forces Central), Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, and he has commanded at the squadron and wing levels and has held staff assignments at Headquarters U.S. Air Force, U.S. European Command and U.S. Central Command. He received his commission in 1993 from Officer Training School and is a command pilot who has flown in support of operations Southern Watch, Noble Eagle, Unified Protector, Enduring Freedom and Inherent Resolve.
