Lieutenant Colonel Robert Buckley

Chief of Curriculum, 19AF/A5 US Air Force

Lieutenant Colonel Robert H. Buckley is the Chief of Curriculum, Nineteenth Air Force, Strategy, Transformation, and Innovation. The curriculum team directs student and instructor curriculum design, development, and evaluation for pilot training modernization. It includes a team of 7 AF civilians and 11 Contractors, supporting 41 AETC flying programs and 75 syllabi. It synchronizes strategic efforts with AETC, 6 NAF Directorates, 5 UPT Wings, 6 installations and multiple partnerships. Lastly, Lt Col Buckley’s team drafts strategic guidance, builds requirements for industry partners, and plans for modernizing flying training programs.

Lt Col Buckley graduated from Florida State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He is a command pilot with more than 3,500 flying hours and has served in numerous supervisory and leadership positions to include 2016 JB MDL Open House and Air Show Director of Air Operations, Wing Weapons and Tactics Chief, Deputy Director of AFCENT Safety, 97 Operations Group Chief of Innovation, and 97 Training Squadron Operations Officer. Lt Col Buckley has deployed supporting operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Inherent Resolve, and Freedom Sentinel.

Prior to his current assignment, he was the Operations Officer for the Air Education and Training Command Detachment 24, JBSA Randolph, TX.
