Colonel Jeffrey Shulman

Commander, 80th Flying Training Wing, Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) Program US Air Force

Col. Jeffrey D. Shulman is the Commander, 80th Flying Training Wing, Sheppard AFB, Texas. The wing consists of more than 1,300 military, civilian and contract personnel, and has over 200 military aircraft. Col. Shulman leads the execution of 55,000 sorties and 66,000 hours annually for the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) program. ENJJPT is the world’s only internationally manned and managed undergraduate pilot training program, in which 14 NATO nations participate: Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States. In addition to undergraduate pilot training, the wing also hosts Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals and pilot instructor training.

Col. Shulman commissioned as a distinguished graduate from Saint Louis University in 2003. He has served as a Mission Commander and Evaluator Pilot in the F-16 and AT-38C. Additionally, he was selected to serve as a fellow at RAND Corporation and a defense fellow on Capitol Hill for a senior member of Congress. Prior to this assignment he served as the Deputy Commander, 8th Fighter Wing, the “Wolf Pack”, Kunsan AB, Republic of Korea.

Col. Shulman’s operational experiences include F-16 support in Operation NOBLE EAGLE and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. As a command pilot, Col. Shulman has 170 combat hours in the F-16 and more than 2,400 hours in fighter aircraft.
