Bahbaz’s career with PEO STRI began as an Acquisition Academy intern in 2011, working as a project engineering apprentice on the Live, Virtual, Constructive – Integrating Architecture program within Project Manager Constructive Simulation.

He progressed to Project Manager Training Devices in 2014 as a journeyman engineer on the Combat Training Center – Instrumentation System program, and he later became lead engineer and chief architect for the Live Training Transformation product line in 2017. In this capacity, Bahbaz was responsible for the Common Training Instrumentation Architecture program and managed a significant DevSecOps platform of 300 developers and multiple industry partners. His innovative approaches have resulted in over $200 million in cost avoidance and earned him multiple awards.

Bahbaz became supervisory chief engineer for the former Product Director Future Training Solutions in 2020 and later for Product Manager Synthetic Training Environment – Live Training System (STE-LTS) after the 2023 reorganization, where he oversaw technical management of STE-LTS programs. Bahbaz’s contributions have been credited with enhancing PEO STRI’s capabilities and have established him as a trusted technical authority.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in aerospace engineering from the University of Central Florida. Bahbaz has received numerous honors, including the NDIA LTG Ferguson Honorable Mention Award, the Civilian Service Commendation Medal, the David Packard Excellence in Acquisition Award, the Army Achievement Medal for Civilian Service, and back-to-back Value Engineering Awards.
