Colonel Todd Hopkins

Commander, Camp Blanding Joint Training Center Florida National Guard

Colonel Todd Hopkins began his military career with the Florida Army National Guard's Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 124th Infantry of Leesburg, Florida, in July 1999, received his commission as a Second Lieutenant through the Florida Officer Candidate School in 2001, and is currently assigned as the Commander of Camp Blanding Joint Training Center.

Colonel Hopkins has served in a variety of command and staff positions throughout the Florida Army National Guard, including assignments as Platoon Leader, Company XO, Battalion S1, Company Commander, Battalion S3-Air, Battalion S3, Battalion XO, Brigade S1, JFHQ-FL HRO-AGR Branch Manager, JFHQ-FL Deputy G5, the Commander of 1st Battalion 124th Infantry Regiment, Brigade XO, and as the Director of Human Resources. His deployments include: Operation Iraqi Freedom (2006-2007) as an Anti-Armor Company Commander, Operations Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn (2010) to Kuwait as an Assistant Operations Officer, Operation Freedom’s Sentinel (2015) to the Horn of Africa as the Task Force Seminole Executive Officer, and the European Deterrence Initiative and European Assure, Deter, and Reinforce (2021-2022) as the Joint Multinational Training Group – Ukraine Chief of Staff.

Colonel Hopkins is a Joint Qualified Officer and graduate of the United States Army War College, Maneuver Pre-Command Course, Joint Combined Warfighter School-Hybrid, Defense Strategy Course, Intermediate Level Education – Common Core and Advanced Operations Course, Infantry Captains Career Course, and the Infantry Officer Basic Course. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Harding University, a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from National Louis University, and a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College. In addition to receiving a Bronze Star, seven Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, a Joint Service Achievement Medal, and two Florida Distinguished Service Medals, Colonel Hopkins is a recipient of the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award and the Order of St. Maurice.

When not executing his assigned duties, Colonel Hopkins has served in a variety of leadership positions outside of the FLNG in the Association of the United States Army, the FLNG Foundation, and Trail Life USA. He and his wife, Stacee, along with their five children (Luke, Hannah, Isaac, Levi, and Nathaniel), reside in St. Augustine, Florida.
