Brigadier General Ronnie D. Anderson Jr.

Commander, Joint Munitions Command US Army

Brig. Gen. Ronnie D. Anderson Jr. assumed the duties of Commander of the Joint Munitions Command on June 1, 2023. JMC provides the joint forces with ready, reliable, and lethal munitions at the speed of war, sustaining global readiness.

Anderson was born and raised in Franklin, Indiana. He was commissioned as an Ordnance officer from Purdue University in 1996.

Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from Purdue University, a Master of Science in Logistics Management from Florida Institute of Technology, and a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the Marine Corps University.

His assignments include: Platoon Leader, Maintenance Staff Officer, Shop Officer and Battalion S4, 561st Corps Support Battalion for 101st Sustainment Brigade, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, 1999-2001; Battalion S3, and Company Commander, 514th Maintenance Company, 548th Corps Support Battalion, 10th DISCOM, Fort Drum, New York, and Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, 2001-2006 (deploying for OIF April 2003 – August 2004); Small Group Instructor for the Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course, Army Logistics Management Collage; Fort Lee (know n as Fort G regg-Adams since 2023), Virgi nia, Battalion Executive Officer,

Anderson’s military education includes Officer Basic Course, Airborne Course, Air Assault Course, Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Logistics Executive Development Course, Command and General Staff College, and Senior Service College at the Marine Corps War College.

Anderson’s awards and achievements include Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Bronze Star Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (6 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), two National Defense Service Medals, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, three Meritorious Unit Commendations, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.
