Colonel Pat Farrell

Project Manager, Mid-Range Capability Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO), PEO Missiles & Space US Army

OL Pat Farrell was commissioned a 2LT of Armor from the United States Military Academy in 2000 and served in ascending operational leadership positions at Fort Cavazos (formerly Fort Hood), Texas including M1A2SEP Tank Platoon Leader, and Light Cavalry Scout Platoon Leader. He deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His acquisition career started at the U.S. Army Armaments Research Development and Engineering Center as a United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) liaison, during which time he deployed twice to Afghanistan to field critical weapons to U.S. ground forces in combat supporting Operation Inherent Resolve. COL Farrell was the assistant Product Manager for Precision Guidance Kit (PGK) responsible for operational testing and fielding activities. He later served in various positions in the Pentagon in the office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Acquisition, Logistics and Technology before working as the Acquisition Advisor to the 35th Vice Chief of Staff of the Army (VCSA). COL Farrell held the charter of the Product Manager for Precision Fires and Mortars in JPEO Armaments and Ammunition where he was responsible for the development, production, and fielding of PGK, Long Range PGK, and the Army’s suite of Mortar Weapons and Fire Control Systems. Upon completion of command, COL Farrell returned to the National Capital Region serving as the Military Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Acquisition and finally as the Acquisition Advisor to the 38th VCSA. He currently holds the charter as the Project Manager for the Army’s Mid-Range Capability Weapon System and Task Force STRIKE in PEO Missiles and Space at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.

COL Farrell’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, The Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Valorous Unit Award, and the Combat Action Badge. He has earned both the Office of the Secretary of Defense Service Badge and Army Staff Badge.

COL Farrell is certified DAWIA Level 3 in Program Management, as well as certified as a Project Management Professional through the Project Management Institute. COL Farrell has graduate degrees from Bellarmine University and the Eisenhower School for Strategy and National Resource Management.
