Mr. Williams currently serves as the Chief Engineer for the Directed Energy Project Office (DEPO) within the Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO), Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. He assumed this role in September of 2023, where he leads and coordinates technical activities for RCCTO’s Directed Energy (DE) programs, including research, development, and engineering activities for High Energy Laser (HEL) and High-Power Microwave (HPM) components, systems, testing, and technology demonstrator programs. Mr. Williams began his career as an Army Civil Servant in 2003 working as a test engineer for the Redstone Test Center. He later joined the Combat Capabilities Development Command, Aviation and Missile Center (CCDC, AvMC) where he supported the Program Management Office for Aircraft Survivability Equipment (PMO ASE) as a Test Director and later as the Test and Evaluation lead. His work testing Directed Energy countermeasure systems for Army aviation platforms eventually led him to RCCTO. Mr. Williams is a graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering and holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Materials Engineering, both from Auburn University.
