Everett Frazier

Commissioner Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in West Virginia

Everett Frazier, the current Commissioner of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in West Virginia, was appointed to the position by Governor Jim Justice on January 6, 2020. Commissioner Frazier brings a wealth of experience to the role, having spent over three decades in management, including 25 years in the automotive industry.

Prior to his appointment at the DMV, Frazier served as the Director of Operations at a large automotive dealership. His extensive background in management and the automobile industry has equipped him with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively lead the DMV.

Commissioner Frazier has a clear vision for the DMV: to make a positive impact on the state of West Virginia by maximizing technology and providing exceptional customer service. In the past three and a half years, he has made significant strides toward achieving this goal.

One of his most notable accomplishments was steering the DMV through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under his leadership, the DMV implemented various measures to ensure the safety of both employees and customers, such as offering more online services and expanding access to drive-thru regional office locations.

Commissioner Frazier's commitment to improving customer service is evident in his efforts to expand the DMV's reach and make transactions more convenient for citizens. He oversaw the opening of more regional offices and the launch of online services like online knowledge testing and REAL ID HeadStart, allowing customers to complete transactions from the comfort of their own homes.

Furthermore, Frazier is leading West Virginia to the forefront of digital titling with the passage and implementation of the National Title Clearinghouse. This initiative will significantly streamline the titling process, making it faster and more efficient for vehicle owners.

Commissioner Frazier's dedication to providing excellent customer service extends beyond the DMV's offices. He believes that every citizen should be treated with respect and courtesy when interacting with DMV employees. He resides in Oceana with his wife, Angela, and together they work tirelessly to serve the people of West Virginia.
