Jon Hastie, Sr. Director – Technology and Sr. Technical Fellow, leads QinetiQ’s development initiatives and technical strategy with a specific focus Robotic and Autonomous Systems. With over 15 years of experience with unmanned systems, Mr. Hastie has had specific focus on development and employment of Unmanned Ground Combat Vehicles (UGCVs) with specific subject matter expertise in modular open system architectures, safety critical systems, and optimization of unmanned/optionally-manned systems. As RCV Program Director, Mr. Hastie has led QinetiQ’s Robotic Combat Vehicle program and all related activities from inception. This includes Activities related including US Army Surrogate Prototyping (SP) and Full Scale Prototyping (FSP), test and experimentation activities, ongoing upgrades and tech insertions, and internal development. Prior to his current role, Mr. Hastie was QinetiQ’s Product Manager for Appliqué and Large Unmanned Ground Systems, where he led execution of the Route Clearance Interrogation System (RCIS) POR, Wingman JCTD, and Stryker Dragoon RCV-Medium Surrogate. Mr. Hastie has Master and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University with concentration on Mechatronics and Robotics.
