Col. Kevin D. Bradley commissioned a Second Lieutenant in Armor in 1999 from the United States Miliary Academy at West Point, New York. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the Unites States Military Academy, a master’s in public policy management from Georgetown University, and a PhD in Political Science from Louisiana State (LSU) through the Army’s Good paster Fellow Program (SAMS-ASP3).
Bradley’s first assignment was with 1st Battalion 63rd Armor Regiment, 1st Infantry Division from 2000-2003 where he serves as a Platoon Leader in Kosovo as part of KFOR 1B. He also served as a Tank Platoon Leader, Tank Company Executive Officer, and Support Platoon Leader upon return to Vilseck, Germany. Following the Infantry Officer Advanced Course, Bradley was assigned to 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division in Fort Cavazos, Texas from 2003-2007. Deploying to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom II in 2004, Bradley serves as the Brigade’s Senior Advisor to the 302d Iraqi Army Battalion operating on Haifa Street Baghdad. Bradley deployed to Iraq again in 2006 during the “Surge” as the commander of Cold Steel Troop, 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment during combat operations in the Diyala province of Iraq. After command, Bradley joined the Joint Staff Intern Program in Washington, D.C. from 2008-2011, serving in the Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Public Affairs and as a Legislative Liaison to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Following completion of the U.S. Army Command and Staff College in 2011, Bradley served as the Executive Officer for 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry of the 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team in Fort Lewis, Washington. He deployed as the Operations Officer for 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry to Panjwai, Afghanistan in 2012 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom and concluded the combat tour as the Executive Officer for 4th Stryker Brigade in Kandahar, Afghanistan. COL Bradley assumed command of 1-7 Cavalry Squadron “Garryowen,” 1ABCT at Fort Cavazos in January 2017 and deployed the Squadron to Europe as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve in 2018.
After command, he served as the 1st Cavalry Division G3 Defender 2020 and command of the 3d Cavalry Regiment as the 79th Colonel of the Regiment from December 2020 to May 2023. In May 2023, COL Bradely deployed to Baghdad, Iraq as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operation Inherent Resolve and the continuing defeat of ISIS. Since July 2024 Bradley has been the Director of Next Generation Combat Vehicles Cross Functional Team, Army Futures Command.
Bradley’s military education includes the Armor Officer Basic Course, Infantry Captain’s Career Course, Combined Arms Services Staff School, Command and General Staff College, Cavalry Leaders Course, Airborne School, and Ranger School.
His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with “V” Device, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Ranger Tab.
