Brigadier General Zachary Miller

Commander, Joint Modernization Command US Army

A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Brigadier General Miller graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1997.

He has commanded the Army's Joint Modernization Command, headquartered at Fort Bliss, Texas, since June of 2023.

BG Miller’s prior command assignments include a combat engineer company in the First Cavalry Division; the 21st Engineer Battalion of the 101st Airborne Division; 5th Battalion, 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade; the Memphis District of the US Army Corps of Engineers; and the 3rd Security Force Assistance Brigade.

He has multiple deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan and across the broader Middle East.

BG Miller's education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree from USMA and a Master of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He earned a master’s degree in advanced military arts and science from the School of Advanced Military Studies.
