Ms. Lynn Williams joined The Boeing Company in May 2018 following many years in government service, both in the U.S. Air Force and in the Legislative Branch of the U.S. Government. In her role as Senior Director for Acquisition & Sustainment Policy in Government Operations, she informs and coordinates Boeing’s advocacy on acquisition, sustainment, and industrial base policies.
Prior to joining Boeing, Lynn served as a senior analyst in U.S. defense policy for the Congressional Research Service. She provided objective, non-partisan public policy analysis to congressional committees, Members of Congress, and their staff. She specialized in defense budget and military readiness matters to include training, logistics, maintenance, and installations. From March 2010 to January 2016, Lynn served as a senior staff member on the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) where she acted as the lead advisor to the Chairman on all matters related to acquisition and industrial base policy. She assisted in developing the annual National Defense Authorization Act and oversaw implementation of defense acquisition reform efforts. From 2006-2010 Lynn served as lead staff member for the HASC Readiness Subcommittee with oversight of more than $200 billion in annual operation and maintenance funding. In that position she developed policy and advised budgetary decisions on readiness matters including military readiness and training, civilian personnel management, depot operations, logistics, and deployment processes.
Prior to working in the Legislative Branch she served as an active duty F-15 pilot in the U.S. Air Force where she flew over 2,400 hours and conducted multiple deployments in support of Operation Southern Watch, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the NATO training mission. She transitioned to the Air Force Reserves in 2005 and served in the Pentagon in the offices of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force for Operations, Plans and Requirements, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, and the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. Lynn retired from the Air Force Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel in May 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
