Dr. Lacey Duckworth is a Computer Scientist in the Department of Defense High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) at US Army Corps of Engineers – Engineer Research and Development Center, where she serves as the HPC Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Ecosystem Project Manager. In this role, she is responsible for developing the strategy for supporting AI-ML users and ultimately helping users more quickly and efficiently deliver AI-ML solutions to the warfighter. As part of these efforts, she leads the annual HPCMP AI-ML Solutions Workshop, engaging with HPC AI-ML users to better understand their needs and providing opportunities for code-a-thons, networking, specialized training, and leadership engagements.
Dr. Duckworth’s degrees include a B.S. in Computer Science, an M.S. in Computer Science, and a Ph.D. in Computational Sciences, each from the University of Southern Mississippi. She enjoys increasing her professional and technical skills by undertaking developmental assignments, attending professional workshops and conferences, and taking AI-ML courses. From 2019 – 2022, she embarked on a developmental assignment, serving as the ERDC liaison to and Program Manager with the then Joint AI Center, currently the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office. During this assignment, she led and managed several diverse teams through the development of AI solutions for Joint Logistics operations and maintenance to ensure mission readiness. Dr. Duckworth is also a graduate the Army Management Staff College and ERDC Leadership Develop Programs and has served on the Emerging Leaders Group.
