Prabhjot is Director of RTX's Additive Manufacturing Process & Capability Center (AMPCC). His team is focused on developing & demonstrating high-productivity laser powder-bed fusion processes, design-for-additive workflows and materials optimization. Prabhjot’s industry experience spans 20 years with a focus on additive manufacturing process development, advanced design tools, and digital manufacturing methods. He earned a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Subsequently, he joined GE Research in 2004 and worked on laser powder directed-energy deposition (DED) and digital light processing (DLP)-based ceramics additive processes. In 2011, Prabhjot founded GE Research's additive manufacturing lab which focused on maturing technologies for additive new product introductions in aerospace, energy generation and healthcare sectors. In 2017, Prabhjot established the GE Additive Business Programs office with oversight responsibilities for business-funded, product-focused research at GE Research. Prabhjot's research has been funded by government customers including DoD, ARPA-E, NASA, and NIH. He chairs America Makes' AM Roadmap Advisory Group (RMAG). He has 20 issued patents and numerous technical publications.
