Additive Manufacturing Implementation Lead, Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (DASN)

Heller serves as the Department of the Navy’s Additive Manufacturing Implementation Lead aligned under the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy in Research, Development, Test and Engineering. As the Navy’s Additive Manufacturing Implementation Lead, Heller is responsible for executing oversight of all matters relating to additive manufacturing throughout the Department of the Navy’s acquisition process. Heller is a native of Lexington, South Carolina and has been a Navy Civil Servant for 8 years supporting the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic in Charleston, SC as a design engineer. His experience includes serving as the Command’s Senior Subject Matter Expert in 3D On-Demand Manufacturing responsible for the establishment and management of the command’s additive and traditional manufacturing labs. Additionally, Heller has worked on numerous prototype projects including the United States Marine Corp’s Amphibious Assault Vehicle, and the presidential motorcade’s Mobile Communication Vehicle. Heller graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina. In 2015 Heller earned a Master of Science in project management and systems engineering from the Citadel, Charleston, SC.
